What you’ll do:

Job Family Definition:

Designs, plans, develops and manages a product or portfolio of products throughout the solution portfolio lifecycle: from new product definition or enhancements to existing products; planning, design, forecasting, and production; to end of life.
 

Management Level Definition:

Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients. Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. May provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.

Responsibilities:

• Leads and drives the end to end strategy and operational product roadmap for one or more products.
• Defines the value proposition, target customer segments, and business case to bring one or more innovative and disruptive products to market with respect to the whole company product portfolio (i.e. Product configuration mix, Revenue/Margins, financials, market share).
• Synthesizes market requirements (MRD) into marketing/customer details through having intimate customer knowledge and business, financial and industry market acumen.
• Advises key stakeholders on the portfolio strategy across all phases of the lifecycle (e.g., planning, development, launch, management, exit).
• Creates and drives goal alignment and collaborates across one or more products' value chain partners to optimize margins and enable success of products per plans across the product lifecycle. (ie. Engineering: product development, Supply Chain:  SKUs, inventory and Marketing:   marketing and pricing strategies and Go To Market Plan).

What you need to bring:

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering or related field of study. MBA and/or advanced degree in computer science or engineering preferred.
• 8+ years of work experience in related field either in Product Development/QA

Knowledge and Skills:

• Product Development/QA using popular languages such as C/++, Java, Python and/or in Product Management in the area of Operating System / DB / Middleware / Development Environments (IDE) and cloud platforms.
• Good understanding of software development life cycle and methodologies.
• Technical understanding and wide knowledge of the mission-critical computing platform and software industry.  
• Ability to provide product specific technical training to the field teams.
• Experience in launching and growing successful products.
• Defining product strategy based upon thorough market research, emerging trends, customer expectations and business drivers.
• Clearly define product requirements, translating market needs and target customer experience, to build a winning product or product capability to further enhance business growth.

• Expert team skills and ability to cross functionally drive/influence work through R&D, Program Management, Field sales & solution architects, ability to mentor and lead teams to achieve results for complex, ambiguous projects.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact closely with customers and partners and take follow through actions. Ability to present and communicate convincingly at trade shows and customer meetings/events.
• Ability to work effectively with marketing to prepare informative and helpful customer facing materials to efficiently communicate product capabilities.
• Expert skills in cost efficient solution building, financial performance metric creation and analysis.
• Expert business acumen and knowledge of root cause analysis and problem detection.
