Job Summary

Porch is looking for a customer-centered and data-driven Sr. Technology Product Manager for our Insurance Policy Administration System, BriteCore. With Insurance Agents and multiple internal teams as your customers, this position plays a crucial role in driving successful growth and operational efficiency, while creating technical competitive advantages. Our team is focused on leveraging modern technologies, including AI and ML models, as we implement new products, pricing and underwriting strategies and manage loss ratios. What You Will Do As A Senior Technology Product Manager

  • Business Acumen: Create and implement product strategies and plans that align with business goals and drive growth, intimately understand the industry and the competitive landscape, and help the business to identify and prioritize opportunities to generate performance improvements
  • Technical and Product Expertise: Understand the business value of advanced technical capabilities (e.g. AI/ML, AR) and maintain deep expertise for the policy administration system and its entire, complex tech ecosystem
  • Senior Leadership Partnership: Partner with senior leadership to align product strategy with business objectives and ensure executive alignment
  • Product Roadmap Ownership: Develop and execute a Policy Administration System configuration roadmap that layers up to impact goals across multiple teams
  • Customer Advocacy: Advocate for a customer-centric user experience, ensuring our systems effectively resolve the most important wants, pains, and needs
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Use data and first-party research to derive insights and deeply understand our stakeholders’ most significant problems and drive product decisions
  • Product Implementation: Work closely with configuration and engineering teams to define technical solutions, configuration requirements, and ensure feasibility. Act as clear owner for delivery, managing project plans, dependencies, communications, risk management, launch planning, etc.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of the policy administration system
  • Sprint Planning: Guide prioritization of work backlog to balance routine projects, support requests, and larger enhancement initiatives
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security standards
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and drive initiatives to enhance performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, quantify opportunities, and resolve conflicting objectives
  • Knowledge Base Ownership: Own and maintain the team's knowledge base, ensuring documentation is up-to-date and accessible
  • Communication: Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on product status, milestones, and planning.

What You Will Bring As A Senior Technology Product Manager

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Actuarial Science, or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of policy administration systems and the P&C insurance industry
  • 8+ years of experience in product management, including using customer centric and prioritization frameworks and partnering with senior leadership stakeholders
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex technology ecosystems, including nurturing software initiatives from idea to launch
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
  • Ability to conduct first party research, analyze data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions, including ROI evaluations
  • Experience with both agile methodologies, waterfall project management, and work management tools (JIRA, Workfront, Asana, Monday, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven experience working with US based business teams  
  • Excellent written and communication skills in English language.
  • Ability to work within core US business hours / time zone expectations - Eastern Standard Time (EST) overlap
  • Workspace: A quiet space to work, an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download | 10 Mbps upload
