Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead our development teams in delivering complex engineering software and hardware projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both traditional project management methodologies and Agile principles, with a proven ability to lead and motivate technical teams. This role requires a deep understanding of the Scrum framework. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget, all while ensuring a high level of quality and team satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Lead the planning and implementation of projects from concept to completion, defining project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Methodology Mastery: Apply a blend of traditional project management (PMP) and Agile/Scrum methodologies to effectively manage project timelines, resources, and risks.
- Scrum Management: Act as the Scrum Master for one or more teams, facilitating Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint review, and retrospectives), and helping the team to remove impediments.
- Team Coordination: Coordinate and manage project team members, including software developers, hardware engineers, Q/A specialists, and product owners. Ensure team members are clear on their tasks, responsibilities, and project goals.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and milestones.
- Budget & Resource Management: Manage project budgets and resource allocation, making adjustments as necessary to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and within financial constraints.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify and proactively manage potential project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies and communicating their impact to stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet high-quality standards and are delivered on time.
- Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of continuous improvement, both for the project management processes and for the development teams.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and post-project reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- PMP Certification is plus.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in a technical or engineering environment.
- Extensive knowledge and practical experience with the Scrum framework is a must. A Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I, etc.) is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of the software and/or hardware development lifecycle.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Jira, Asana, Microsoft Project).
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
