Job Summary:
As the Product Manager for our SRE Chapter, you will be responsible for defining and executing a product vision that drives innovation and enhances our capabilities for the Global SRE chapter. You will collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to deliver technology products that improve service reliability, efficiency, user satisfaction, and business outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a strong product mindset, understanding of SRE concepts, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in managing technology products in an agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy & Vision:
- Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Global SRE chapter.
- Conduct brainstorming and competitive analysis to inform product decisions and identify opportunities for innovation and service reliability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with engineering, development, production support and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on SRE chapter goals and deliveries.
- Facilitate workshops and brainstorming sessions to gather requirements and feedback from diverse teams.
- Agile Product Management:
- Lead the product development lifecycle using agile methodologies, managing backlogs, sprints, and releases effectively.
- Write clear and actionable user stories and acceptance criteria to guide the development process.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, gathering insights and ensuring their needs are prioritized and addressed.
- Communicate product updates, strategic direction, and performance metrics to stakeholders at various levels.
- Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Analyze user data, feedback, and product performance metrics to inform product enhancements and features.
- Use analytics tools to measure success against key performance indicators (KPIs) and iterate on the product roadmap as needed.
- Market Positioning & Launch:
- Develop go-to-market strategies for product launches, ensuring effective positioning within the organization.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to create promotional materials, conducting training sessions for internal users.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement within the team, advocating for best practices in product management and agile methodologies.
- Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in product management to drive innovation.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in product management, specifically in technology or software product environments.
- Proven experience in managing the product development lifecycle in an agile setting.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as JIRA.
- Understanding of SRE concepts
- Understanding of user experience (UX) design principles and methodologies.
